Survey on uptake and impact of the Genetic Resources journal

Posted on 2021-07-12

As part of the EC-funded H2020 project ‘GenRes Bridge’ (, the project consortium has established a new online scientific journal Genetic Resources ( dedicated to the community of practitioners of plant, animal and forest genetic resources (GenRes) involved in monitoring, collecting, conservation, characterization, breeding, valorization and use of in situ or ex situ GenRes.

Genetic Resources is open-access and free to publish and read, with initially funding by the H2020 project GenRes Bridge. The journal published its first issue in August 2020 and has within the project’s framework published three regular issues and a special issue. It serves stakeholders of different genetic resources domains, providing a venue for authors to publish their studies, reports and protocols which may not be suitable for other journals in scope, novelty or data breadth. Genetic Resources is published by Bioversity International and managed by the ECPGR Secretariat.

In order to evaluate the impact of Genetic Resources and the opportunity to continue its publication after the end of the GenRes Bridge project, a survey was prepared in which we want to assess the uptake of the journal and its future potential within the genetic resources community in Europe and worldwide. We appreciate your time in responding to a series of questions on the journal, sharing your opinions will help us make it better in the future.

You can access the survey at the following link:

This survey will take about 10 minutes. Responses to the survey will be collected until 15 August 2021.
